With "Orthoptera" - scientific name for grasshoppers - 162 species of grasshoppers in Switzerland, Germany and Austria can be identified with an intuitive identification key. The species shown are illustrated with over 5000 image, sound and drawing documents. Detailed information on appearance, song, habitat or distribution supplement the information on the respective species. Users can freely choose criteria such as body size or wing length, also in combination. This procedure simplifies the determination and makes the application extremely flexible. In addition, the range of species can be automatically narrowed down using GPS localization. The app is aimed at interested laypersons as well as experts and is the ideal companion in the field.
